We are happy to announce that we are hosting a one-day version of our hands-on labgrid training at the Embedded Recipes in Nice, France. The workshop takes place on day three of the Embedded Recipes (16.05.2025) and is part of the workshop track. The workshop is free of charge, but registration is required.

In the light of regulations such as the CRA, automated system-level tests of complete embedded Linux devices get even more important. The open source project labgrid provides a toolbox for automated testing of a complete embedded Linux on the actual hardware. As a hardware abstraction, it closes the gap between remote control hardware and test code.

In this workshop will combine theory with practical exercises using labgrid on actual hardware at your desk. We will bring a labgrid lab and devices under test (DUTs) and cover the topics below:

• Architectural overview of labgrid
• The labgrid command line interface
• Use labgrid to write Python scripts that control the DUT
• Understand and extend strategies to transition the DUT into specific states
• Writing tests in pytest and run those on the DUT

Expect an interactive experience where we'll not only demonstrate labgrid's capabilities but also welcome your input and discussion. The training is aimed at beginner and entry-level labgrid users.
